Having friends with cool cars is one thing. Having friends that also let you drive said cool cars is another. I’ve had the chance to take this Porsche for a spin before. Unfortunately for me only for a very small drive.
This was still great. It meant I got the chance to get behind the wheel of a car I’ve always had dreams of owning. An extensive amount of work has been carried out on this car. I believe it was a three-year restoration carried out to get it to where it is now.
This does not include the constant tinkering to improve bits here and there on it. A good example of this is the Alcantara dash, which was installed a few years after the build had been carried out.
Do not be fooled though; this is no garage queen. The owner of this lovely classic Porsche 964 drives it and he goes for it. It has been on the track multiple times, as well as bombing around the Lincolnshire country roads. Abiding speed restrictions at all times. Obviously.
I’m always a big believer in the fact that if you own one of these cars. Use it. They were built and designed to be driven and enjoyed. Even though I’ve only had the chance to drive this car once, it was a special occasion itself.
I have always had the pleasure of having a Porsche in my life at some point and no I have never owned one, which is what has grown my love and passion for Porsche. If I ever win the lottery, there will be subtle hints because I’ll be driving around in a Porsche of my own.
Until the point where I either come into some big money like winning the lottery photographing them is the next best thing. It’d be great to one day work with Porsche UK, but we shall see.
